It has been several weeks since I last posted here, but that’s not because I haven’t been taking pictures. November has been a crazy busy month for me- I was out of town every weekend, and most of those trips were out of state. Every week has been a short week at work, and I’ve racked up a few frequent flyer miles. It’s been hectic.
Most of those trips were not photography or work-related, but I did take a few photos here and there. I always post the new stuff to Flickr, if you want to keep abreast of what I’m doing.
The first two weekend trips in November, however, were photography related, and it was very exciting. After the Hold That Hug event in mid October, I was asked if I’d like to do some assisting and second-shooting with Silver Box Photographers, a team based here in Columbia. They are fantastic photographers, warm and sweet and very nice, and I did two weddings as assistant and second-shooter at the beginning of November.
The first wedding was at a winery outside Ste. Genevieve, a gorgeous historic town on the Mississippi river just an hour south of St. Louis, on the prettiest fall weekend of the year, and I extended my trip to do some fall photos the next day in and around the St. Francois Mountains. It was beautiful!
Kim Wade at Silver Box posted some pictures from the wedding in a blog post and also a slideshow to their website, and it includes a few of my photos in there. Take a look!
The second wedding was in Palmyra, Missouri, which is outside of Hannibal, and I will post a link to those pictures and slideshow when they’re ready!
I will continue the Month of Travel with a trip to Chicago this weekend to do photos of my cousin’s family, including two-year-old Lucy and new baby sister Maggie, born on November 10, 2008. I will definitely have photos to post from that trip.
