Kim at Silver Box just posted the pictures from Trisha & Luke’s October wedding.  This was probably the last wedding I will shoot during this wedding season, and the pictures turned out lovely.  You would never guess how chilly it was that day!

The slideshow is also up!  The song is a nice cover version of Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young”, which is one of my favorite songs.

I shot this wedding with Kim of Silver Box Photographers a few weeks ago, and the pictures are up at the blog.  I even got a shout-out on a couple of dance photos that turned out pretty well.

Click on the image or click here to see the blog post, or take a look at the slideshow.

I shot another wedding with Silver Box last weekend, and it might be my last wedding of the season.  I look forward to next year!

Another wedding with Kim of Silver Box Photographers!  This is a link to a wedding that we shot a few weeks ago, but I also shot another wedding last weekend.

The wedding was in Carrollton, Missouri, in the bride’s grandfather’s backyard.  Beautiful!  But it started to drizzle right before the ceremony.  Luckily, somebody put in a call to have that fixed because the rain stopped just as the bride was ready to walk down the aisle.

Click on the image or click here to go to the Silver Box blog for more pictures from the wedding, and check out the slideshow (which has some of my photos from the event).

I happen to know that Silver Box is taking bookings for 2010!  If I was getting married, I would book Silver Box.  They do such spectacular work!

Lynn & Justin’s engagement and family photos were taken just a few weeks before they tied the knot in June.  It was a nice weekend with beautiful weather, and everything went just fabulously.

Lynn is such a pretty bride!  Her sister is my sister-in-law, and here she is helping Lynn get ready.

Meanwhile, the groomsmen:

The flower girl was adorably noncooperative, but the two little boys who accompanied their mother down the aisle were all smiles.

Details from the reception:

A first dance… with the groom:

And with her sons:

Who are two happy little boys who have a brand new stepfather:

A very happy couple!

Congratulations Lynn & Justin!  It was a truly lovely day.

I’ve moved my proofing site over to Zenfolio, and so far I am pleased with it.  I have the last two family shoots and this wedding up there, and I also uploaded some of my nature/landscape images if you’d like to take a look.  You can order prints from that site if you like.  It fulfills the orders through MPIX, my favorite professional lab, which is located in my town, so those of you who live in the Missouri area will find the shipping to be super fast and the prints are wonderful.  I use MPIX almost exclusively.

I’ve shot a couple of weddings with Silver Box Photographers this summer, and the first one is up at their blog.  Here’s a screenshot.  They redesigned the blog in the late spring this year, and I love the sunny yellow and new logo.

Click on the image or click here to go to the Silver Box blog for more pictures and a great description of the beautiful festivities.  Everyone looks so fresh and happy- you would never know that it was one of those stiflingly hot and humid days that is typical of Missouri weather in July.

And take a look at the slideshow too… some really lovely detail shots by my primary photographer, Kim Wade, but I did get a couple in there.

Wonderful!

I started out the 2009 wedding season by assisting with Silver Box Photographers again.  I was so happy to get the opportunity.  The wedding was beautiful, the people were so nice, and the weather was lovely.  It was a great time!

The photos are up at the Silver Lining blog.  I took several of the photos in the blog post and many more that were included in the slideshow.  Kim Wade, my wonderful main photographer, even name-checked me, so you’ll be able to see which ones I shot.  I really hope to work with them again more this season.

In addition, April was a pretty big month for me!  I sold my first print and made my first stock photography sales, all of which were nature related.

I am also working very hard on my California pictures (from over a year ago! but there were literally thousands of them, so…) because I want to do a presentation of them at this month’s Jeff City Photo Club meeting.

It’s all very exciting!

Photos from my second wedding shooting with Silver Box Photographers are online now.  Kim Wade put up a blog post and a slideshow from this wedding, which again includes several photos that I shot.  It’s fun to see the whole day put together!

This wedding was in Palmyra, and the reception was outside Hannibal.  I really loved the church; it reminded me so much of the churches in the small towns where I grew up.  The reception event location was fairly swanky in comparison, with multiple ice sculptures.

On the way home from Hannibal that night, I drove through the first snow flurries of the year.  It was a pretty night.

I should post again this week with the photos from the shoot with my cousin and his family.  I must get them done tonight because I have another shoot on Saturday in St. Louis.

It has been several weeks since I last posted here, but that’s not because I haven’t been taking pictures.  November has been a crazy busy month for me- I was out of town every weekend, and most of those trips were out of state.  Every week has been a short week at work, and I’ve racked up a few frequent flyer miles.  It’s been hectic.

Most of those trips were not photography or work-related, but I did take a few photos here and there.  I always post the new stuff to Flickr, if you want to keep abreast of what I’m doing.

The first two weekend trips in November, however, were photography related, and it was very exciting.  After the Hold That Hug event in mid October, I was asked if I’d like to do some assisting and second-shooting with Silver Box Photographers, a team based here in Columbia.  They are fantastic photographers, warm and sweet and very nice, and I did two weddings as assistant and second-shooter at the beginning of November.

The first wedding was at a winery outside Ste. Genevieve, a gorgeous historic town on the Mississippi river just an hour south of St. Louis, on the prettiest fall weekend of the year, and I extended my trip to do some fall photos the next day in and around the St. Francois Mountains.  It was beautiful!

Kim Wade at Silver Box posted some pictures from the wedding in a blog post and also a slideshow to their website, and it includes a few of my photos in there.  Take a look!

The second wedding was in Palmyra, Missouri, which is outside of Hannibal, and I will post a link to those pictures and slideshow when they’re ready!

I will continue the Month of Travel with a trip to Chicago this weekend to do photos of my cousin’s family, including two-year-old Lucy and new baby sister Maggie, born on November 10, 2008.  I will definitely have photos to post from that trip.

In June, I did family and engagement photos for Denise and Brian, and a couple of weeks ago, I was the primary photographer for their wedding!  They chose to celebrate at the Cafe Via Roma in downtown Jefferson City.  It was a rainy Saturday morning, but the coffeeshop was pretty cozy, crowded with all of their friends and relatives for the event.  Afterwards, tiramisu!

A couple of budding photographers (daughters of the couple)!

A wonderful ceremony!  And big props to my friend Nichole Manner of Iris Photography who was my second-shooter for the event.

It has been quite a summer for me.  I have had a lot of work to do- lots of events, lots of post-processing, a and a lot of things going on in my personal life.  I am surprised that it is still summer, but then- it’s not!  Everyone is going back to school this week and next week, and then it will feel like autumn even though it still will be warm for a couple of months.

My first solo wedding was in late June, and the pictures are processed and up now at the Gallery if you’d like to take a look.  Brenda & Preston chose a very hot day in July, one of the hottest days of the summer, but they timed it so that the sun was fading behind the Missouri State Capitol as they began the ceremony in the Governor’s Gardens in Jefferson City, Missouri.

I almost didn’t recognize clean-shaven Preston, who’d been hidden beneath the beard and cap at the engagement session in June.  Brenda was a beautiful bride!  (Watch that alliteration!)  A very lovely wedding, complete with a reception full of food and family.  Congratulations to a happy couple!
