I just finished processing the pictures from my last Model Mayhem shoot with Brittany, and I am really happy about the way they turned out.  Brittany and I just talked and laughed through most of our session.

Here are a few of my favorites:

I brought the long-stemmed flowers (bought from Allen’s Flowers in downtown Columbia) as a prop, and I was so glad that I did.  They were beautiful and Brittany had a great time playing around with them.

I had a great shoot with Brittany (#525139) from Model Mayhem on Monday night, and I was so excited about the results that I started processing a few of them right away.

I am still processing pictures from my second wedding (as a second-shooter), so I can’t finish these right now.  I can’t wait until I get to them!

Isn’t she adorable?

This was my fourth shoot on Model Mayhem, and I am loving the experience that I get there.  The site hooks up wannabe photographers with wannabe models, and though some pay for their shoots, many are done TFCD (which stands for Time For CD, which means that other than time/effort/travel expenses, both parties work free of charge).  While I know that many of the models and photographers on MM are there to gain experience to be in fashion, I am not there for that.  I am there for the pool of people who are willing to be photographed!  I need to build confidence in posing people or making them comfortable, that kind of thing.  I think a lot of the models, especially the inexperienced ones, might be there for the fun of it and the boost in confidence of being thought of as a ‘model’, too, plus free pictures!  So we’re all getting something good out of our trouble.

This is my first post on my Abbie Brown Photo blog!  I have a regular blog, too, and I plan to keep up both of them for right now, although separating the photo stuff from my regular life might prove to be something of a challenge.  But I see this as relating specifically to photography, and that blog as just a general diary of my life (what I did, where I was, what I ate, etc.)

Welcome to my new blog, part of my new photo site!  Thanks for coming!
